Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Easily the best seafood we ever had. Very attentive and friendly service."
"Our reservation got lost in a misunderstanding, but this was fixed with a smile by the friendly and accommodating staff. We had a fairly quiet evening, but best to make reservations just to secure a good spot. The seafood platters are very fresh and really tasty. There are various kinds and options to kind of compose your own (we saw a few other tables do this). Do beware: most clams/coquilles are raw just like the oysters. The rest is cooked to perfection (crabs, prawns, sea snails, ...) We really enjoyed our dinner with a nice gris de gris wine recommended by the helpful waitress. Definitely will recommend to anyone looking to enjoy a delicious seafood platter!"
"As the only one who loves seafood in the family, I sort of forced them to eat with me. The kids had fries that the owner ordered at the restaurant beside us and gave my non-shellfish/shrimp eating husband anchovies in vinegar/olive oil which he found very good. I had the lunch menu (oysters and other shellfish with shrimp) - very good btw, with the white wine and desert (ice cream cake) which we all devoured after. The owner tried to convince my husband to try a shellfish and he tried it and found it not bad. This kind of experience you rarely find in Germany, the waiters would have thrown us out already in the beginning. I love how they accommodated me and tried to make the whole experience enjoyable for my family. Very lovely experience overall. this worked because the restaurant was not full for lunch at that time, maybe dinner would be busier."
"Fresh seafood, great wine, friendly staff, excellent service. Merci beaucoup!"
"I have travelled the world, but nowhere have I tried better lobster than here. This place is divine- it hasn’t got kitchen or toilets, but oh boy, does it have the freshest seafood in the world."
"Casual yet friendly, efficient and more importantly serves tasty food at an affordable price. Right next to the canal if you get lucky enough tofind a table by the window. We found it overall better than other cafés in the area."
"Very friendly people, the waitress (I think it was one of the owners) looked after us, advising on the quantity to order so as not to order too much. She very kindly showed us what to do and what accompanied/complimented what, the French way. My wife had not tried oysters before so the man who was preparing the shell fish gave her one to try without obligation. The sea food is fresh and delicious and, though not cheap, showed value for money. You get what you pay for."
"Great looking (and tasting) seafood and staff You can’t go wrong with this place!"
